Every minute a debt ridden British person goes bust.

DEBT-ridden Brits are going into their shells with more than 900,000 struggling without help or advice.

Despite a bankruptcy declared every 51 SECONDS, insolvency trade body R3 found one in five people just bury their heads in the sand and hope it will go away.

The same number also had no idea where to turn to for help and almost half believed they would have to pay for it.

Total UK personal debt stood at £1,460 billion at the end of May, with the average household debt now £8,716.
